It belongs to the same class of drugs known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors, which help improve blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. This allows men to achieve and maintain a firm erection suitable for sexual activity. Like other ED medications, it does not work without sexual arousal.
